Killer who chopped up victim’s body and hid it in barrel for six years set to discover his fate
Christopher Wright is due to be sentenced after being convicted of murdering Richard Dyson, whose remains were hidden in a concrete-filled barrel for almost six years. The case brings a long-delayed conclusion to Mr Dyson’s disappearance and exposes the efforts made to conceal his death.
Mr Dyson, 55, disappeared in November 2019 and his remains were discovered on farmland near Barnsley in 2025. Prosecutors said he was shot, dismembered and placed in a barrel inside a trailer; Wright also faced offences relating to the concealment of the body and firearms.
