King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard have released Alien Metal, their 28th album, following recent previews through the singles “Level 5”, “Kill For The Steel” and the title track. The release matters as it marks another sharp stylistic shift for the prolific Melbourne band, this time towards science-fiction-inspired trance and electronic music.

Frontman Stu Mackenzie said making the record led him to rethink his musical approach from scratch.
