‘Kingdom Hearts 4’ Gets Its Biggest Update in 4 Years

Collider · 1 day ago

Kingdom Hearts fans have a new date to watch after Disney announced a dedicated "Deep Dive Into Kingdom Hearts" panel at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event on 15 August 2026, marking the franchise's biggest update since Kingdom Hearts 4 was revealed in April 2022. The presentation, timed shortly after a new trailer reignited interest in the long-delayed sequel, has fuelled speculation that Square Enix could use the event to share fresh details, a Disney world reveal, or even a release window for the game.

The hour-long panel runs from 4:30pm to 5:30pm PT at the Anaheim Convention Center as part of D23, which takes place from 14 to 16 August in Anaheim, California. Disney's official description promises a journey "through light and darkness" celebrating 25 years of the franchise, exploring its collaboration between Disney, Pixar and Square Enix, though no guests or developers have yet been confirmed. Disney has not explicitly confirmed Kingdom Hearts 4 will feature, but the convention has a history of major reveals, having unveiled the Big Hero 6 world for Kingdom Hearts 3 back in 2015, and the series' 25th anniversary falls in 2027.
