Kingdom Hearts IV is scheduled to launch for Nintendo Switch 2 and other platforms in late 2027, Square Enix and Disney confirmed in a new trailer shown during D23. The announcement matters because it provides the first release window for the long-awaited sequel and confirms it will reach Nintendo’s next-generation console.

The trailer revealed that Disney and Pixar’s Coco will be among the worlds featured in Sora’s new adventure. Separately, Disney announced an original Kingdom Hearts anime series, inspired by the games, is coming soon to Disney Channel and Disney+.
