Nearly finished intro footage from Kingdom Hearts Missing-Link, a mobile spin-off Square Enix cancelled in 2025 after years of development, has leaked online, sparking a wave of reaction from fans. The clips first surfaced via 4chan over the weekend before a fuller version, reportedly running almost five minutes, spread across YouTube, X, Reddit and other platforms on 20 July 2026, prompting fans to lament that the polished, story-rich project was shelved.

The footage shows spacesuit-clad figures descending into a dark, watery abyss before Heartless and Keyblades appear, alongside narration about the city of Scala ad Caelum and its "third generation" facing a mysterious phenomenon. Its tone and visual style struck many fans as closer to Kingdom Hearts 4 than a cancelled mobile title, fuelling speculation that elements, including a character resembling Sigurd from a recent KH4 trailer, could be woven into the mainline sequel. Square Enix has not confirmed the leak's authenticity, and Missing-Link, announced in 2022, remains cancelled with no indication of release.
