An anonymous social media post has advertised a "Kirkiversary" Charlie Kirk look-alike contest at the University of South Carolina, timed to coincide with the anniversary of the conservative activist's assassination on 10 September. The Yik Yak post offered a $50 prize for a contest outside the Russell House on Greene Street, but did not state its purpose was to mark Kirk's killing, and it remains unclear who created it or whether those involved are actual students. The university has distanced itself from the event, stating it has no record of any registered student organisation planning it and that no university resources will be used to support it.

Kirk, the 31-year-old founder of Turning Point USA, was shot dead on 10 September 2025 while speaking at Utah Valley University during his "American Comeback Tour". The account Libs of TikTok amplified the South Carolina post, describing it as a student-organised celebration of the assassination and calling it "demonic". A similar alleged "lookalike contest" was reportedly planned by students at Georgetown University for the same anniversary, promoted on the anonymous app Fizz and drawing more than 2,200 upvotes among a student body of roughly 6,000. Fox News Digital said it had not received a response from the University of South Carolina at the time of publication.
