KJ Apa Asked ‘Riverdale’ Showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa For ‘Afterlife with Archie’ Cameo: “I Don’t Know Who I’d Play”
KJ Apa has asked Riverdale showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa whether he could appear in the upcoming Afterlife with Archie adaptation. Apa, who played Archie for all seven seasons of Riverdale, said he would enjoy making a cameo, though he does not know which character he might play.
The series is due to premiere on Disney+ at Halloween 2027, following a script-to-series order last October. Written by Aguirre-Sacasa and based on his comics with artist Francesco Francavilla, it depicts a zombie apocalypse in Riverdale after a spell backfires, forcing Archie and his friends to fight for survival.
