Korea’s DRX Signs Strategic Partnership With Indonesia’s Nuon to Expand Gaming and Entertainment Ties (EXCLUSIVE)
South Korean esports and entertainment company DRX Corp has signed a strategic partnership with Indonesian firm PT Nuon Digital Indonesia, aiming to deepen gaming and entertainment ties between the two countries. Announced in Jakarta, the deal combines DRX's esports, content production and fan engagement expertise with Nuon's local distribution network, creator relationships and market knowledge, and forms part of a wider strategy by DRX to grow beyond esports into a broader digital entertainment business, with Southeast Asia identified as a priority region.
The partnership will initially focus on three areas: live entertainment, game publishing and talent development. Plans include launching a flagship Jakarta festival called DRX Homefront Indonesia, featuring competitive gaming showcases, creator programmes, fan meet-ups and K-pop-style concerts, as well as a joint publishing initiative to bring Korean games to Indonesia and vice versa, covering title selection, localisation, marketing and payments. The companies also intend to extend DRX's academy system into Indonesia, offering coaching, training camps in Korea and pathways for Indonesian players into the region's professional gaming scene, with Indonesia's population of over 280 million and mobile-first audience cited as a key driver. A joint team will be formed to develop specific projects, with further details expected in due course.
