Witkoff has reportedly travelled to Moscow multiple times for talks with Vladimir Putin but has yet to visit the Ukrainian capital, a disparity that has drawn criticism from Zelensky, who has said he wants the envoys to come to Kyiv directly. Zelensky has held what he described as positive conversations with both Witkoff and Kushner in other settings, including Miami and around Oval Office discussions, as the Trump administration pushes forward with its broader peace initiative between Russia and Ukraine.
