Producer-singer-songwriter Laila! is releasing her second album, "We'll Never Be This Young Again," on 23 October, and it has already garnered a major endorsement from SZA, who recently called it "the most beautiful shit I've heard all year." The album follows the critical and commercial success of her 2024 debut "Gap Year," which earned her a spot on Rolling Stone's Future 25 list. The new project marks a significant step forward for the artist, showcasing her artistic growth and maturation over the past two years.

The 12-track album was recorded across professional studios in New York, Atlanta, and Paris—a considerable upgrade from the childhood bedroom studio where she recorded her debut. Now 19 years old, Laila! has experienced significant life changes including moving into her own apartment in New York, which has influenced the album's thematic focus on nostalgia, memory, travel, and personal experiences. Whilst she produced and wrote the majority of the album herself—a practice she particularly values for its personal quality—she has incorporated limited collaborations, describing one feature as "really special." The lead single is "Miss Mango," and a teaser for the title track has already been shared on social media.
