Lana Del Rey has confirmed that her long-delayed album Stove will be accompanied by a second, previously unannounced "companion" record, closing off years of uncertainty over the project's status. In an Instagram post on 15 July, she said she needed just one more month to finish putting the companion album together before sending both records to vinyl, framing the pair as "two of my most beautiful pieces of work" born out of years of doubt and delay.

She described Stove as a "classic album" that is "lovely and intact as it was intended to be," much of which fans have already heard through touring, while calling the companion record "a commentary of sorts" on the setbacks and patience the process demanded. Stove was first announced in 2024 as the follow-up to 2023's Did You Know That There's a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd, but reportedly underwent two name changes and repeated delays since. Del Rey shared artwork for both records but gave no titles or release dates; in the interim she released standalone tracks including "Tough," "Henry, Come On," "Bluebird" and "White Feather Hawk Tail Deer Hunter," teased new material at Stagecoach in 2025, and wrote the theme song for the James Bond video game First Light in April.
