Erin Taylor, a lawyer at Aulich Civil Law, has won a Supreme Court battle against her former partners Benjamin Aulich and Peter Woodhouse, who engaged in "oppressive" conduct to avoid honouring her $500,000 share buyback. The ACT Supreme Court ruled entirely in Ms Taylor's favour on 11 September, finding that both men had deliberately stonewalled her for months, depleted the firm's funds, and placed it into voluntary administration to frustrate her legal claim and gain litigation advantage.

Ms Taylor became a partner in July 2019 after paying $500,000 for a 25 per cent stake, with her offer letter guaranteeing a buyout if she departed within five years. Her romantic relationship with Mr Aulich began in March 2018 but ended in September 2023, after which professional tensions escalated dramatically. Court evidence revealed Mr Aulich publicly humiliated her in front of a client and told her to "get f**ked and f**k off" at a café meeting; internal emails showed Mr Woodhouse telling Mr Aulich that Ms Taylor "may well implode (or explode)" when she realised he would not buy her out personally, whilst suggesting they might need to "kill" the civil practice to protect the criminal firm from liability.
