Layoffs Hit Staff at Crossfire Developer That’s No Moon
Crossfire developer That's No Moon has laid off an unspecified number of staff, according to former employees who began posting about the cuts on LinkedIn on 6 August. The roles affected appear to include technical and environmental artists, adding the Los Angeles-based studio to a growing list of games companies making job cuts this year. IGN has contacted That's No Moon for comment but the studio has not confirmed details of the layoffs.
That's No Moon was founded in 2021 by veterans of studios such as Naughty Dog and Infinity Ward, and unveiled its debut title, the narrative-driven single-player game Crossfire, at Summer Game Fest 2026. The game, set in the world of the Crossfire multiplayer shooter, has no release date yet but is in development for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. The layoffs follow similar cuts at Psychonauts developer Double Fine, which reduced its workforce by a quarter last month amid Xbox's wider restructuring.
