Layoffs Take Place At ‘The Repair Shop’ Producer Ricochet
Ricochet, the producer of the BBC’s The Repair Shop, has laid off around 10 staff, including creative chief Damon Pattison and Scotland office lead Rob Butterfield. The cuts amount to just under a third of the company’s workforce and were made in response to market conditions, with the decision taken before Skydance’s deal closed.
Ricochet now has 24 staff across Brighton and Glasgow, and Joanna Ball remains managing director. The company is also known for Guz Khan’s Custom Cars, Ben Fogle’s New Lives in the Wild and Sun, Sea & Selling Houses. The cuts come amid wider job losses across the UK television industry, while the future of Ricochet and two other Warner-owned UK production companies under Skydance remains unclear.
