Trossard, 31, joined Arsenal from Brighton in January 2023 and went on to make 174 appearances, scoring 36 goals in all competitions. He scored six times in 31 league games during the title-winning campaign, including a late winner against West Ham in May that proved important in the run-in. His final Arsenal appearance came in the Champions League final against Paris Saint-Germain, where he assisted Kai Havertz in a 1-1 draw before Arsenal were beaten on penalties, while both clubs confirmed that the transfer process was under way.
