Legendary Rock Band JEFFERSON STARSHIP Releases New Single ‘Jetpack’
Jefferson Starship, the veteran rock band formed by Paul Kantner in the 1970s, has released a new single called "Jetpack" alongside an official lyric video, marking a fresh chapter for a group that recently celebrated its 50th anniversary. The release arrives while the band is on tour supporting Deep Purple across North America, offering fans a chance to hear new material alongside the band's extensive catalogue of hits.
"Jetpack" was written by guitarist Jude Gold with lyrics from singer/guitarist Cathy Richardson, and was recorded at 2200 Studios, formerly known as the Record Plant, where the band cut some of its classic recordings decades ago. The track also features longtime bassist Pete Sears, linking the new song to the band's history. Jefferson Starship's current five-member line-up includes founding member David Freiberg, drummer Donny Baldwin, keyboardist Chris Smith, Gold and Richardson, and the band will return to its "Runaway Again" tour after the Deep Purple dates conclude.
