LEGO unveils X-Files set with Gillian Anderson’s return as Scully
Developing story first seen 6 hours ago
LEGO has released a promotional advert in which Gillian Anderson reprises her role as Agent Scully for the first time since she stepped away from the character in 2018, having been unhappy with the direction of The X-Files' final season. The advert accompanies the launch of a new LEGO set based on the show, a rare full-circle moment for Anderson that she has since called one of the highlights of her career.
The set, numbered 21369 and titled The X-Files, originated as a fan design by Brent "WetWired" Waller that won LEGO Ideas' "Build Your Nostalgia – 90s Throwback!" competition, and closely follows his original concept. It costs $199.99, goes on general sale on 5th August with early access for LEGO Insiders from 1st August, and will be sold exclusively via LEGO.com and LEGO stores; it recreates Mulder's lab beneath a forest scene with a hovering UFO and includes eight minifigures (Mulder, Scully, the Cigarette Smoking Man, Skinner, Mr. X, Krycek, an alien and the Flukeman), with online orders placed between 1st and 10th August also receiving an exclusive "Scully's Lab" minifigure as a bonus.
