Lenovo’s fast, comfy SteamOS handheld is hundreds off

The Verge ·

Lenovo’s Legion Go S handheld, running SteamOS, is discounted to $999.99 at Best Buy and is presented as a higher-spec alternative to the $789 Steam Deck OLED. The deal may appeal to buyers who want a larger, sharper, faster-refresh screen and more memory and storage, while keeping access to the same software as the Steam Deck.

This configuration has an eight-inch 1080p IPS display with a refresh rate of up to 120Hz, 32GB of RAM, 1TB of storage and a Ryzen Z1 Extreme processor. The article says it is more capable than a newer Legion Go S configuration with Windows 11 and the less powerful Ryzen Z2 Go, but falls short of the $1,299.99 Asus ROG Xbox Ally X20, which has a Z2 Extreme chip and an OLED display.
