Liam Gallagher has ruled out a new Oasis studio album, telling a fan on social media that he's unwilling to face the criticism if it fails to meet impossibly high expectations. It would be the band's first record of new material since 2008's "Dig Out Your Soul", but Liam indicated he would rather focus on live performances than risk the backlash of a less-than-blockbuster release.

In the exchange, Gallagher said he wasn't "prepared for the criticism if it doesn't sell 100 million copies in the 1st hour", adding he'd sooner "do some gigs and be happy". He also mused that any hypothetical new material would still sound like classic Oasis rather than chase modern trends. Separately, after "Wonderwall" became an unofficial anthem during England's run to third place at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, Liam hinted at more shows next year, fuelling long-standing rumours of a 2027 tour; Oasis has not officially confirmed dates. The band's documentary "Don't Look Back in Anger", covering their 2025 reunion tour, is due in cinemas on 11 September before streaming later this year.
