Liam Neeson Goes on the Run in Fast-Paced ‘The Mongoose’ Trailer

The Hollywood Reporter · 3 hours ago

The Hollywood Reporter reports that Samuel Goldwyn Films has released the first trailer for The Mongoose, a new Liam Neeson action thriller due in cinemas on 30 October 2026. Neeson plays Ryan “Fang” Flanagan, a decorated Afghan war veteran who is wrongly accused of a crime and becomes the target of a televised cross-country police chase. The film matters mainly as another high-profile late-career action vehicle for Neeson, while also marking a directing role for Mark Vanselow, his long-time stunt double from the Taken films.

The trailer shows Flanagan fleeing in a sports car while being pursued by Texas Highway Patrol vehicles led by Michael Chiklis’s character, Pope, a forceful and reckless police chief. Marisa Tomei appears as Flanagan’s ex-wife and Ving Rhames plays a former comrade who supports him, while crowds along the roadside cheer him on. The script was written by Thompson Evans, the film was financed by Code Entertainment and Jupiter Peak Productions, and it was shot in Australia standing in for Afghanistan, Arkansas and Texas.
