Lil Uzi Vert had their planned Lollapalooza set cancelled due to severe weather, missing what would have been a headline-worthy performance on their 31st birthday. Despite the setback, the Philadelphia rapper made an unannounced appearance at the Chicago festival and marked the occasion by surprise-releasing a new EP, continuing their tradition of dropping music on their birthday.

Uzi's Friday-night slot ahead of Charli XCX was scrapped after weather issues disrupted several sets across the weekend, but they still turned up to crash Major Lazer's set on Perry's Stage, performing "Just Wanna Rock" before the crowd sang "Happy Birthday". They also released the EP "Almost Forever" under the moniker Maverick, their first project since 2024's "Eternal Atake 2", timed to land exactly ten years after "The Perfect LUV Tape". The wider Lollapalooza line-up featured Charli XCX, Lorde, Olivia Dean and The Smashing Pumpkins, with the festival closing on 2 August after a weekend of surprise guest collaborations.
