Lily Allen Downsizes US Tour Venues
Lily Allen has scaled back her planned September North American arena tour to smaller theatre and amphitheatre venues in several cities, following on from a spring run of theatre shows supporting her breakup concept album West End Girl. The change reflects her limited mainstream popularity in North America compared with the UK, and the niche, theatrical nature of the show itself, which presents the album in full with props and costume changes rather than a conventional greatest-hits set.
Fans with tickets for Philadelphia, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Vancouver will be refunded within five to seven working days and automatically entered into a presale on 22 July, with general sale following on 24 July. Montreal has been dropped from the tour entirely, while Seattle has been newly added, with tickets going on sale 24 July. New York, Boston, Toronto, Detroit, Minneapolis and the Red Rocks show remain unchanged, with tickets already on sale. The tour runs from 3 September in New York to 28 September in Vancouver, and features no encore or older material from albums such as Alright, Still.
