Limited Run Games has confirmed that it will release a physical edition of The Lord of the Rings: War in the North – Legacy Edition, following Aspyr’s recent revival of the game for Switch, Switch 2 and other platforms. The announcement matters to collectors and players who prefer boxed games, although pricing, editions and release timing have not yet been revealed.

The Legacy Edition adds 60fps support, interface improvements, autosaves, extra save slots and gyro controls on Nintendo platforms. Aspyr has said further Lord of the Rings game revivals are planned, and Limited Run may also handle physical editions of those titles; the distributor has previously worked with Aspyr on physical Star Wars releases.
