Linda Perry Recalls Dolly Parton’s Hilarious First Impression of Her: “You’re Weird, but I Like Weird”

Perry described Parton as exceptionally kind and humble, and spoke about their later collaboration on Parton’s 2023 album *Rockstar*. Parton recorded Perry’s 1993 song “What’s Up?” and invited her to appear in its video, including a scene in a bathtub in a library. Perry said the song’s continued appeal comes from its relatable questioning of what is happening in the world.
