NBC has unveiled its new law enforcement drama "Line of Fire," starring Peter Krause and Hope Davis, which is set to premiere on 21 September. Krause joins the project after departing ABC's "9-1-1," marking a notable move for the actor, while the series adds to NBC's roster of family-centred procedural dramas ahead of the new autumn season.

The show follows a family of law enforcement officers working across the FBI, US Marshals, Secret Service and Department of Justice, who must navigate personal rifts as a routine case spirals into a deadly conspiracy. At a panel discussion, showrunner Joshua Safran described the series as a throwback in the vein of "The West Wing" and "The Good Wife," blending case-of-the-week storytelling (roughly 80/20 or 90/10 episodic to serialised) with an ongoing conspiracy thread. Krause plays Mike Hollingsworth, separated from his wife Jane (played by Davis), with the pair's on-screen adult children played by Tommy O'Brien, Kat Cunning and Taylor Bloom.
