Lionsgate Animated John Wick Film With Keanu Reaves Officially A Go

Lionsgate has greenlit an animated John Wick film, with Keanu Reeves set to reprise the title role. The prequel will explore a pivotal part of the character’s past, expanding the franchise’s story through animation.

The film will follow Wick as he completes the “Impossible Task” to escape his obligation to the High Table and be with Helen, before the events of the first film. Shannon Tindle will direct, with Ryan and Kaz Firpo writing; producers include Basil Iwanyk, Erica Lee, Chad Stahelski, Reeves and Point Grey. Lionsgate said the project is in pre-production.
