Lisa O'Neill performed a rendition of 'Old Note' at Glen Hansard's funeral at St Patrick's Cathedral in Dublin, joined by former Frames members Colm Mac Con Iomaire, Joseph Doyle and Michael Buckley. The moment echoed 2023, when O'Neill and Hansard performed the same song together at Shane MacGowan's memorial. Hansard, the Oscar-winning Once star and Frames frontman, died aged 56 following a motorcycle crash in Dublin on 29 July.

The service, held on 4 August, also featured performances from Colm Mac Con Iomaire and Liam Ó Maonlaí, and from Eddie Vedder and Markéta Irglová, while Bono delivered a reworked spoken-word version of U2's 'A Beautiful Day' in tribute. Mourners in attendance included Hozier, The Edge, Steve Coogan, Imelda May and Angeline Ball. Hansard's family asked for donations to the Dublin Simon Community or Ukrainian Action instead of flowers, and tributes have since poured in from figures including Bruce Springsteen, Barack Obama and Michael D. Higgins.
