LISA won the first award of the evening at the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday, taking best pop for “Dream”, featuring Kentaro Sakaguchi. She became tearful as she thanked MTV, her collaborators and her fans, saying their support and her late-night dreams had brought her to the moment.

The song appears on her debut studio album, *Alter Ego*, released in February 2025, and reached No. 16 on Japan’s Heatseekers Songs chart and No. 20 on its Hot Shot Songs chart. Its accompanying short film, starring LISA and Sakaguchi, premiered in August 2025; LISA was also nominated for other awards at the ceremony, including best K-pop and best cinematography.
