Brandon Flowers has released ‘Paradise’, an upbeat country-influenced single and the second preview of his forthcoming solo album, ‘Thrasher’. The Killers frontman frames the song around working-life frustrations and appears to reference Phil Collins’ ‘Another Day In Paradise’, presenting his version as a return of the phrase to a working-class perspective.

‘Thrasher’ is due on 21 August via Island and will be Flowers’ first solo album in more than a decade, following 2015’s ‘The Desired Effect’. Recorded in Nashville with longtime collaborators and notable country musicians, the album draws on his childhood in Nephi, Utah and his father’s love of country music; Flowers will support it with UK, Ireland and North American dates, including London’s Royal Albert Hall in October.
