Fiona Apple releases Horns of the Bull for Lucky

Fiona Apple has released "Horns of a Bull," a new song written as the theme tune for the Apple TV series *Lucky*. The track, co-produced with her drummer Amy Aileen Wood, marks another new song from Apple following her recent output, though a full studio album has not materialised since 2020's *Fetch the Bolt Cutters*.
The nearly two-minute track features pattering drums, warm piano chords and Apple's distinctive sing-spoken vocal style, building to a growling mid-song climax. *Lucky* is a miniseries based on Marissa Stapley's 2021 novel, starring Anya Taylor-Joy as a con-woman pursued by FBI agents and a crime boss after a heist goes wrong. Apple has explained her six-year gap between albums by saying she is struggling to musically address the "endless barrage of horrors" in the world without misrepresenting other people's experiences.
