Listen to Wilco’s Jeff Tweedy covering Twisted Teens’ ‘Wild Connection’
Wilco frontman Jeff Tweedy has released a cover of 'Wild Connection' by Twisted Teens, sharing it via his Substack where he regularly posts renditions of songs by artists he admires. The cover follows a pattern of Tweedy using these releases to explore other musicians' work, having previously covered Cameron Winter's 'Love Takes Miles' as a Valentine's Day tribute to his wife earlier in the year.
'Wild Connection' comes from Twisted Teens' album 'Blame The Clown', released earlier this year. Tweedy explained on Substack that he admires singer Caspian's voice and had to resist imitating him, describing covers as a way to "try on" music he likes, and felt this particular version still sounded like himself. Separately, Wilco have announced their first-ever African shows, three dates in Marrakech next March, following 2023's 'Cousin' album and last year's 'Hot Sun Cool Shroud' EP, while Tweedy has also kept busy with a triple solo album, guest appearances and a New York Times crossword.
