Little Angel makes big impact on return to Japan
Wales beat Japan 17-0 in the first of two WXV Global Series Tests in Tokyo, with a powerful set-piece helping them through difficult conditions. The win mattered as Wales build towards the 2029 World Cup, and prop Sisilia Tuipulotu made a strong return to a city where she spent part of her childhood.
Tuipulotu, 23, played 78 minutes and earned her 39th cap, dominating at scrum time after previously attending Little Angels international school in Tokyo. She is aiming to regain her best form with Harlequins and is a contender for next year’s British and Irish Lions tour. Wales also fielded emerging players, including 20-year-old Branwen Metcalfe, who has started seven consecutive matches.
