Dakota Harper, 21, and Felicity Eatmon, 22, a couple famous on TikTok with over 26,000 followers, have been arrested and charged with conspiracy to commit arson and first-degree arson following a fire in Charleston, West Virginia. The incident has drawn attention to growing concerns about dangerous vacant properties and homelessness in the city, with local officials using it to highlight these ongoing challenges.

The fire broke out around 11:15pm on Sunday night, destroying an abandoned home on Maryland Avenue in Kanawha County and damaging the nearby Canaan United Methodist Church, which sustained over $10,000 in estimated damages. Surveillance footage allegedly captured Eatmon handing Harper a piece of burning paper which he then placed inside the property. The couple are currently held on a $10,000 cash bond with a preliminary hearing scheduled for 5 October; if convicted, they could receive up to 20 years imprisonment for first-degree arson and 25 years for felony conspiracy. This is not their first legal trouble—they were previously arrested for property damage and conspiracy charges in June.
