Lola is Booking.com’s new AI travel agent

Engadget · 2 hours ago

Booking.com-backed Lola is a new AI travel assistant that can recommend and book hotels, restaurants, events, activities and trips through a natural-language conversation. It searches live availability and prices, compares options and can ask follow-up questions to tailor suggestions, reflecting efforts to make AI assistants handle bookings directly.

Lola is free to use, while its Plus and VIP subscriptions cost $5 and $25 a month respectively, with 12-month commitments; paid benefits include hotel discounts, OpenTable Gold status, event access, airport services and a personal concierge. Its partners include Booking.com brands and other travel and entertainment companies. Similar booking features already exist in Meta’s Muse, and AI booking tools can make errors, including confusing destinations or showing a reservation as confirmed when it is still pending.
