A woman became briefly trapped in knee-deep mud at Lollapalooza after heavy rain turned the festival grounds into a mire over the weekend, with footage of the incident going viral online. Chloe Bahna, who was attending the Chicago festival, sank into a waterlogged section of the site after jumping in to rinse mud off her boots, prompting festival staff to erect fencing around her before helping her out.

Bahna said she and a friend had decided to embrace the muddy conditions rather than avoid them, as heavy rainfall left much of the main festival grounds waterlogged throughout the event. Speaking to Loudwire, she explained that the mud had unexpectedly created open space to dance near the stages, something she said was rare at festivals, though she ended up sinking further than she had anticipated. She has since taken the incident in good humour, and it followed other mud-related moments reported at Lollapalooza 2026, including impromptu mud wrestling among attendees.
