Festival staff issued two separate statements as conditions worsened, first delaying doors to 2pm before pushing the start back further to 3pm while crews worked to clear standing water, particularly from the South Grant Park area, which remained flooded as late as 2pm according to attendee reports.

Despite the disruption, K-pop group Cortis and Wolf Alice went ahead with shortened sets of 40 minutes each, down from their scheduled 50 and 60 minutes respectively, with Wolf Alice performing on the Saturday night of the festival's third day. The event, which began on 30 July with headliners including Olivia Dean, Charli XCX, Tate McRae, Lorde and The xx, has otherwise continued largely uninterrupted, featuring surprise guest appearances such as Sombr bringing out 5 Seconds of Summer, Smashing Pumpkins reuniting with former member Melissa Auf der Maur, and Lorde joining Charli XCX for a performance of "Girl, So Confusing".
