The 2026-27 Women’s Super League fixtures have been announced, with London City Lionesses hosting Manchester United on Friday 4 September in the opening match. The game will mark Alexia Putellas’ anticipated London City debut following her high-profile move, underlining the club’s ambition to challenge established leading sides. United face an immediate test after missing out on Champions League qualification last season.

The league expands to 14 teams, with Birmingham City, Charlton Athletic and Crystal Palace promoted, while Chelsea will play every home league match at Stamford Bridge after leaving Kingsmeadow. Defending champions Manchester City start against Birmingham, and last season’s top three meet several times before the end of November; the BBC will show 25 league matches. Kick-off times will be spread more widely across Friday evenings, Saturdays and Sundays, and the season ends before the 2027 Women’s World Cup in Brazil.
