Festival Republic chief Melvin Benn said unexpectedly high early arrivals, combined with additional security measures, made the first hour of entry difficult. Reports described long queues, pushing and shoving, limited Garda presence and some people missing wristbands; organisers said overnight changes were made to improve access over the following days.
