Los Angeles on-location production fell in the second quarter, but scripted television drama showed signs of recovery, according to FilmLA. The increase matters because scripted TV supports more industry jobs than other production categories, and officials see expanded tax incentives as central to reviving local filming and employment.

Total shoot days reached 4,711, down 13% year on year and below 5,121 in the first quarter. Television logged 1,607 shoot days, up 34% on the previous quarter but down 28% annually, while dramas rose 55% quarter on quarter and fell only 6.4% annually; feature-film days dropped 20% to 443. Incentivised productions accounted for 38.3% of TV shoot days and 33% of feature-film days, following California’s expanded tax-credit programme.
