Madonna Live Video Event For ‘Confessions II’ Sets TikTok Record With 2.1M Global Viewers
Madonna’s TikTok Live event promoting her new album *Confessions II* drew more than 2.1 million viewers worldwide, setting a platform record for a stand-alone artist event. The broadcast, staged the day before the album’s release, underlined both Madonna’s continued commercial pull and TikTok’s growing role in major music launches. It also matters because it shows an artist well outside TikTok’s core age demographic can still generate huge engagement through a carefully planned digital event.
The live stream took place on 2 July 2026 in partnership with iHeartMedia and was also carried in audio form by more than 200 radio stations. TikTok said the event generated over 5.75 million likes and 139,000 comments, with fans also taking part in polls and submitting “confessions”. *Confessions II* then debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with 134,000 units moved in its first week, following a wider promotional push that included a surprise concert in Times Square, a Tribeca Festival appearance, and participation from host Bob the Drag Queen, producer Stuart Price and Madonna’s daughter Lola Leon.
