Madrid’s Iberseries & Platino Industria Pivots Toward More B2B Activities Where the Hot Button Issues of AI and Microdramas Also Take Center Stage
The Madrid-based Iberseries & Platino Industria conference is shifting its focus towards more business-to-business activities and networking opportunities, moving away from traditional one-way presentations. This strategic evolution reflects the growing importance of direct industry connections and collaboration in the audiovisual sector, with the event expecting to surpass last year's 2,500 accreditations in its sixth edition.
The event is introducing new initiatives including the Euro-Atlantic Series Co-Pro Pitch programme for European television projects, screenwriter presentation sessions in collaboration with Spanish creative organisations, and dedicated industry meetings. Notable new attendees include the BBC, Netflix, Amazon MGM Studios/Prime Video, Apple TV+, and other major broadcasters and production companies, alongside approximately 220 buyers and 50 film commissioners. The programme also addresses contemporary industry challenges through dedicated workshops and panels on artificial intelligence and microdramas, including the world premiere of "Pelagius," Spain's first feature film created using generative AI.
