Double Jack's rhythm game Maestro is coming to Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 on 17th September 2026, letting players use Joy-Con controllers to mimic conducting an orchestra in time with on-screen prompts. Originally released as a VR title, the game has been adapted for Switch, drawing inevitable comparisons to Wii Music, though early impressions suggest it offers more genuine challenge and structure than that gimmicky Wii-era title. Its arrival matters as a rare example of a VR experience being successfully reworked for a traditional console format, with a physical release also planned.

The game is designed to be accessible regardless of musical knowledge, while still offering depth for rhythm game enthusiasts through four difficulty levels, global leaderboards and cosmetic unlocks. It supports both docked and tabletop play, making it suitable for solo or group sessions, and features a repertoire spanning classical works by Beethoven, Brahms and Mozart alongside film and franchise soundtracks such as Star Wars, The Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter. A physical version is also planned to launch alongside the digital release, including support for the original Switch console.
