Magic: The Gathering's collaboration with Final Fantasy is continuing well beyond its original 2025 launch, with Wizards of the Coast and Square Enix confirming a new promo card tied to the release of Final Fantasy 7 Revelation. Announced during a Sony State of Play showcasing the game, the tie-in shows the crossover set remains commercially significant enough to warrant fresh merchandise nearly two years after its debut, extending the partnership into 2027.

Final Fantasy 7 Revelation, the closing chapter of Square Enix's FF7 remake trilogy, is due for release on 8 April 2027 on Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Windows PC and Xbox Series X. Day-one physical editions from participating retailers will include a foil promo card depicting Cloud Strife battling Sephiroth, a reprint of the flexible board-wipe card Final Showdown, featuring new artwork by designer Tetsuya Nomura. It follows a similar Zack Fair promo bundled with Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth's Switch 2 release, alongside other post-launch products such as December 2025's Scene Boxes and Chocobo Bundle, and designer Gavin Verhey has said he would welcome further Final Fantasy content given the franchise's vast, untapped material.
