Mahershala Ali and director Bassam Tariq have completed their long-awaited feature collaboration through an independent route. "Your Mother Your Mother Your Mother," a crime drama, stars Ali as Latif, a devout contract killer confronting an unexpected personal crisis: his wife's sudden death forces him to assume sole responsibility for their infant daughter, leading him down an unconventional path to secure breast milk for the child. The film debuted at the Toronto International Film Festival on Saturday evening.

The project represents an alternative outcome to Ali and Tariq's original partnership arrangement. The pair had been attached to direct and star in Marvel's "Blade" superhero film, but that venture was ultimately abandoned, prompting them to pursue this independent drama instead. The film will reach cinemas on 25 September.
