Sheffield's city centre will experience significant traffic disruptions as a major roundabout undergoes maintenance work over the coming fortnight. The junction at Tenter Street and Broad Lane, which connects Upper Hanover Street to West Bar and was redesigned as a roundabout last year, closes to traffic beginning Monday 27 July for approximately two weeks whilst works are completed.

Mottorists will be diverted along alternative routes through Netherthorpe Road, Hoyle Street, Shalesmoor, and Gibraltar Street, substantially increasing traffic flow on these peripheral roads. The city council has warned that congestion pressures are expected to persist through mid-August, with particular strain anticipated on Broad Lane, Townhead Street, West Bar, and Shalesmoor as drivers navigate the detour.
