Maluma Gets Emotional While Reflecting on His Hits During Latin Music Week: ‘I Feel Complete’

Maluma was moved to tears while revisiting “Hawái” and reflecting on his 15-year career at Billboard Latin Music Week. He said the reaction came from gratitude for the memories and achievements associated with the song, and described feeling complete and fulfilled.

During a songwriter discussion, he also spoke about “Agua”, his recent collaboration with Shakira, and “1 + 1” with Kany García, which he said reflects a return to his Colombian roots. He described “Según Quién”, his collaboration with Carín León, as a meeting of Colombian and Mexican music, and said he wants to explore regional music further. “Hawái” topped Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs chart for nine weeks, while its remix with The Weeknd reached No. 12 on the Hot 100; Maluma received a plaque recognising more than 30 No. 1 songs on Billboard charts.
