Police have opened a murder investigation into the 1991 death of Bentley Mathias, 92, after new potential evidence emerged. A 67-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder, marking a major development in a case that was not originally treated as suspicious.
Mathias died at Morriston Hospital on 19 November 1991, when his death was recorded as caused by a brain haemorrhage. The suspect, from the Llanddewi Velfrey area of Pembrokeshire, has been released on bail while inquiries continue; police say they are not seeking anyone else.
