Man City lose forward Kerolin to Barcelona

BBC Sport · 2 hours ago

Barcelona have signed Manchester City forward Kerolin on a contract until 2030, ending the Brazilian's brief but successful spell in Manchester. The 26-year-old was instrumental in City's first Women's Super League title in a decade last season, also helping the club win the Women's FA Cup, making this a significant departure for the WSL champions.

Kerolin scored nine goals and provided five assists in 15 WSL appearances, including a hat-trick against Chelsea in February, with reports putting the transfer fee at around £1.3m, the largest ever paid for a female Brazilian player. She joined City from North Carolina Courage in January 2025 and had been under contract until 2028. She moves to Barcelona as a replacement for Salma Parraluelo, who left for Lyon, after the Spanish champions also lost Alexia Putellas and Mapi Leon to London City Lionesses, while City have bolstered their own attack with the signing of Beth Mead.
