A man has been charged with violence and firearms offences after a woman was shot with an air rifle in Thurnscoe, Barnsley. Police were called to Windsor Street at 21:50 BST on Tuesday following reports of a person with a suspected firearm, and officers found the victim with serious injuries. Brandon Champion, 28, of Windsor Street, has been charged with Section 18 assault, and with possessing an air weapon and ammunition while prohibited from doing so for five years. A 26-year-old woman arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and a 37-year-old man arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender have both been bailed.
