Frank Carter, a 67-year-old cancer survivor from Orange County, Florida, has completed a canoe journey of more than 2,000 miles down the Missouri River with his dog, Amos, following successful immunotherapy treatment for a rare cancer. The trip marks a personal celebration of his recovery and highlights the potential of advanced cancer treatments to restore quality of life after serious illness.

Carter spent 64 days navigating the length of the Missouri, the longest river in the United States, travelling in a cedar-strip canoe he built by hand. The journey began in Montana and ended near St Louis, Missouri, with the pair camping along the riverbank throughout and battling severe storms, high winds and hail along the way.
